The Cullen Diana Madeline 2022 is a testament to winemaking excellence, crafted with care in the heart of Margaret River. With a radiant appearance of mulberry and velvet cherry, this biodynamic red is an elegant blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Malbec. Layers of rich cherry, chocolate, rose, and ironstone tantalise the palate, supported by fine-grained tannins and an ethereal texture. Aged in 55% new oak for 14 months, this wine's complexity and depth invite you to savour every sip. Drink now or cellar for up to 50 years—this is a true collector’s piece.

Diana Madeline, the flagship wine of Cullen Wines, pays homage to the estate's founder, Diana Madeline Cullen. Grown on a certified biodynamic, organic, carbon-neutral estate, this wine reflects the exceptional terroir of Wilyabrup in Margaret River. The 2022 vintage showcases the precision of biodynamic practices, with hand-harvesting timed to biodynamic calendar days and an average of 30 days on skins to extract unparalleled richness and texture. Vanya Cullen, an award-winning winemaker and viticulturist, continues to uphold the legacy of quality and sustainability.

The wine is a perfect embodiment of Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon, offering a balance of rich fruit, savoury complexity, and elegant structure. The warm early vintage conditions, coupled with cooler ripening, resulted in an extraordinary vintage, yielding fruit of exceptional quality.

In 1966, on the advice of eminent agronomist, Dr John Gladstones, Dr Kevin John and Diana Madeline Cullen and friends undertook a trial planting of vines in Wilyabrup, Margaret River. In 1971, they established Cullen Wines with the first vines planted on their sheep and cattle farm; these are now the iconic Cullen cabernet sauvignon vines. All Cullen Wines are grown on a certified biodynamic, organic, carbon neutral and naturally powered estate. In 2020, Chief Winemaker Vanya Cullen was awarded ‘Winemaker of the Year’ in the Halliday Wine Companion and the winery voted 'Best in Australia' by Huon Hooke’s The Real Review. In 2021, Vanya was the recipient of Halliday’s 2022 Wine Companion Inaugural Viticulturist of the Year Award.
